Carla Euliss will be leading the retreat and reminds us that “life is fragile; handle with prayer.” The retreat will be exploring different kinds of prayer, including popcorn prayer, beaming prayer, conversational prayer, praying the Bible, and will be looking at ways to enrich our everyday lives through prayer. Signups begin Sunday, April 6th. For more information contact Carla through the church office at 619-582-8480.
Catastrophes, storms, and wildfires throughout the United States, war and political uprising in the Middle East, malnutrition and starvation, stories of disaster, hunger, poverty, and other tragedies fill our lives. With such stories it is easy to become disheartened and experience compassion fatigue. Yet at the same time, through abundant gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing the congregation of Faith Presbyterian has joined millions of other Christians heeding the call of Isaiah “Your children will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as the people who rebuild their walls and cities” Isaiah 58:12. We will collect the One Great Hour of Sharing offering on Palm Sunday.
The Mariners group will meet at 6:00PM on Friday, April 11th in the Faith Family Center for a potluck dinner. The speaker for the evening will be Helen Beardsley, a former volunteer at the White House for many years. She will share with us her beautiful set of Christmas ornaments, which commemorate our former presidents. She has lots of historic information on each ornament. Signups are on the patio Sunday or call the church at 619-582-8480 for more information and signup. All are welcome.
