Catastrophes, storms, and wildfires throughout the United States, war and political uprising in the Middle East, malnutrition and starvation, stories of disaster, hunger, poverty, and other tragedies fill our lives. With such stories it is easy to become disheartened and experience compassion fatigue. Yet at the same time, through abundant gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing the congregation of Faith Presbyterian has joined millions of other Christians heeding the call of Isaiah “Your children will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as the people who rebuild their walls and cities” Isaiah 58:12. We will collect the One Great Hour of Sharing offering on Palm Sunday.
