Cru San Diego Summer Mission

fb-cover-1

Faith Presbyterian Church Welcomes the students from the Cru Summer Program to San Diego. Cru is the next generation of Campus Crusade for Christ. Lots of great people graced our church on Sunday, June 7, 2015. We look forward to their 10-week adventure in San Diego and meeting with them as often as possible. What a wonderful growth experience for them and us. Check out their plans and the program for their San Diego Summer Mission, as well as their wonderful program at New Mexico State Cru.

Pentecost Offering

On May 24th, we will be collecting Pentecost Offering.  60% goes to General Assembly on Youth Ministries and Children at Risk.  40% stays here with us and will go to Voices for Children which provides Advocates for foster children who need help in the courts.

Please find the Pentecost Offering envelope in this Sunday’s bulletin and remember to bring your offering on Sunday, May 24th.

Thank you for your generous donation.  Please feel free to see Carolyn Taxer after worship on Sunday if you have any question.

Please Save Your Stamps this Christmas

The church Mission Ministry is collecting cancelled postage stamps for the Christian Missions. Please use your scissors to trim the stamps ¼ to ½ inches on all sides which will make a nice border. Send or drop the stamps by the church office for Ruth Morrison. If you have any questions please contact Ruth through the church office at 619-582-8480.

Words for Meditation

“Each year some new heart finally hears, finally sees, finally knows love. And in heaven there is great rejoicing! The Child is born anew and one more knee is bowed.” By Ann Weems

Christmas Eve – Children’s Activity Space

After the 5:30 PM Family Service and during the 7:30 PM Traditional Christmas Eve Service, the church will offer an activity space in Room 2 for children. There will be crafts, activities, and the Christmas Story! At the end of the service the children will meet their families for the candlelight time in the courtyard.

There is still time to help us Adopt a Family for Christmas

As you know, Faith Presbyterian is adopting a family through the Presbyterian Urban Ministries (PUM) in San Diego. If anyone would like to help out you can contact Michelle Crownhart through the church office at 619-582-8480. It’s time for the Christmas Joy Offering

This year we collect the Christmas Joy Offering in support of the Presbyterian Church’s Assistance Program. The program provides critical financial assistance to church workers and their families, sponsors grants and vocational training to clergy, and supports the families in a time of need. The collection will be taken this Sunday, December 21st.

Peacemaking Offering – October 5.

This year,  Faith Presbyterian Church will give our portion of the Peacemaking Offering to two local organizations:  The Habitat for Humanity, to help pay for the November volunteers and to Churches for Middle East Peace which is a coalition of 25 national church denominations and organizations working to encourage U.S. government policies that promote a just, lasting resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (visit info@cmep.org).  Look for more details in the coming October newsletter.

Please send your offerings through your local church.

“Gifts given to the Peacemaking Offering through a congregation are divided in the following manner – twenty-five percent retained by congregations for support of their own peacemaking ministry; 25 percent used to support presbytery and synod peacemaking efforts; and 50 percent forwarded to the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program of the Presbyterian Mission Agency so that it can continue to provide assistance and resources for congregations and other bodies of the PC(USA).”   To find out more about Presbyterian Peacemaking Program, visit:  http://www.presbyterianmission.org/peacemaking

Let us pray for peace and consider the peacemaking offering in October.
