Psalm 122

Pastor Sam preaching

A Song of Ascents. Of David.
1 I was glad when they said to me,
   ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord!’
2 Our feet are standing
   within your gates, O Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem—built as a city
   that is bound firmly together.
4 To it the tribes go up,
   the tribes of the Lord,
as was decreed for Israel,
   to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
5 For there the thrones for judgement were set up,
   the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
   ‘May they prosper who love you.
7 Peace be within your walls,
   and security within your towers.’
8 For the sake of my relatives and friends
   I will say, ‘Peace be within you.’
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
   I will seek your good.

Psalm 147

Pastor Sam preaching

1 Praise the Lord!
How good it is to sing praises to our God;
   for he is gracious, and a song of praise is fitting.
2 The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
   he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
3 He heals the broken-hearted,
   and binds up their wounds.
4 He determines the number of the stars;
   he gives to all of them their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
   his understanding is beyond measure.
6 The Lord lifts up the downtrodden;
   he casts the wicked to the ground.
7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
   make melody to our God on the lyre.
8 He covers the heavens with clouds,
   prepares rain for the earth,
   makes grass grow on the hills.
9 He gives to the animals their food,
   and to the young ravens when they cry.
10 His delight is not in the strength of the horse,
   nor his pleasure in the speed of a runner;
11 but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him,
   in those who hope in his steadfast love.
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem!
   Praise your God, O Zion!
13 For he strengthens the bars of your gates;
   he blesses your children within you.
14 He grants peace within your borders;
   he fills you with the finest of wheat.
15 He sends out his command to the earth;
   his word runs swiftly.
16 He gives snow like wool;
   he scatters frost like ashes.
17 He hurls down hail like crumbs—
   who can stand before his cold?
18 He sends out his word, and melts them;
   he makes his wind blow, and the waters flow.
19 He declares his word to Jacob,
   his statutes and ordinances to Israel.
20 He has not dealt thus with any other nation;
   they do not know his ordinances.
Praise the Lord!

Psalm 32

Pastor Sam preaching

Of David. A Maskil.
1 Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven,
   whose sin is covered.
2 Happy are those to whom the Lord imputes no iniquity,
   and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3 While I kept silence, my body wasted away
   through my groaning all day long.
4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
   my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.
Selah
5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
   and I did not hide my iniquity;
I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord’,
   and you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Selah
6 Therefore let all who are faithful
   offer prayer to you;
at a time of distress, the rush of mighty waters
   shall not reach them.
7 You are a hiding-place for me;
   you preserve me from trouble;
   you surround me with glad cries of deliverance.
Selah
8 I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go;
   I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
9 Do not be like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
   whose temper must be curbed with bit and bridle,
   else it will not stay near you.
10 Many are the torments of the wicked,
   but steadfast love surrounds those who trust in the Lord.
11 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, O righteous,
   and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.

Psalm 30

Pastor Sam preaching

A Psalm. A Song at the dedication of the temple. Of David.
1 I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up,
   and did not let my foes rejoice over me.
2 O Lord my God, I cried to you for help,
   and you have healed me.
3 O Lord, you brought up my soul from Sheol,
   restored me to life from among those gone down to the Pit.
4 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones,
   and give thanks to his holy name.
5 For his anger is but for a moment;
   his favour is for a lifetime.
Weeping may linger for the night,
   but joy comes with the morning.
6 As for me, I said in my prosperity,
   ‘I shall never be moved.’
7 By your favour, O Lord,
   you had established me as a strong mountain;
you hid your face;
   I was dismayed.
8 To you, O Lord, I cried,
   and to the Lord I made supplication:
9 ‘What profit is there in my death,
   if I go down to the Pit?
Will the dust praise you?
   Will it tell of your faithfulness?
10 Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me!
   O Lord, be my helper!’
11 You have turned my mourning into dancing;
   you have taken off my sackcloth
   and clothed me with joy,
12 so that my soul may praise you and not be silent.
   O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

Psalm 96:1~13

Krisi Van Nostran preaching

1 O sing to the Lord a new song;
   sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
   tell of his salvation from day to day.
3 Declare his glory among the nations,
   his marvellous works among all the peoples.
4 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
   he is to be revered above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
   but the Lord made the heavens.
6 Honour and majesty are before him;
   strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7 Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
   ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
8 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
   bring an offering, and come into his courts.
9 Worship the Lord in holy splendour;
   tremble before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, ‘The Lord is king!
   The world is firmly established; it shall never be moved.
   He will judge the peoples with equity.’
11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
   let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
12   let the field exult, and everything in it.
Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy
13   before the Lord; for he is coming,
   for he is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
   and the peoples with his truth.

Ezekiel 37:1~14

Rev Sean Chow preaching

37The hand of the Lord came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2He led me all round them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry. 3He said to me, ‘Mortal, can these bones live?’ I answered, ‘O Lord God, you know.’ 4Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. 6I will lay sinews on you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.’ 7 So I prophesied as I had been commanded; and as I prophesied, suddenly there was a noise, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8I looked, and there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them; but there was no breath in them. 9Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, mortal, and say to the breath: Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.’ 10I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood on their feet, a vast multitude. 11 Then he said to me, ‘Mortal, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, “Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are cut off completely.” 12Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: I am going to open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people; and I will bring you back to the land of Israel. 13And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people. 14I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act, says the Lord.’

Psalm 16

Pastor Sam preaching

A Miktam of David.
1 Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
2 I say to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord;
   I have no good apart from you.’

3 As for the holy ones in the land, they are the noble,
   in whom is all my delight.

4 Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows;
   their drink-offerings of blood I will not pour out
   or take their names upon my lips.

5 The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
   you hold my lot.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
   I have a goodly heritage.

7 I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
   in the night also my heart instructs me.
8 I keep the Lord always before me;
   because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices;
   my body also rests secure.
10 For you do not give me up to Sheol,
   or let your faithful one see the Pit.

11 You show me the path of life.
   In your presence there is fullness of joy;
   in your right hand are pleasures for evermore.

Psalm 4

Pastor Sam preaching

To the leader: with stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.
1 Answer me when I call, O God of my right!
   You gave me room when I was in distress.
   Be gracious to me, and hear my prayer.

2 How long, you people, shall my honour suffer shame?
   How long will you love vain words, and seek after lies?
          Selah
3 But know that the Lord has set apart the faithful for himself;
   the Lord hears when I call to him.

4 When you are disturbed,* do not sin;
   ponder it on your beds, and be silent.
          Selah
5 Offer right sacrifices,
   and put your trust in the Lord.

6 There are many who say, ‘O that we might see some good!
   Let the light of your face shine on us, O Lord!’
7 You have put gladness in my heart
   more than when their grain and wine abound.

8 I will both lie down and sleep in peace;
   for you alone, O Lord, make me lie down in safety.
